Airfield Driving Program Manager (ADPM)

About the role

The Airfield Driving Program Manager (ADPM) is responsible for developing, maintaining and overseeing the airfield driving program to ensure safe vehicle, aircraft and pedestrian movements on the airfield. The role includes training, certification, compliance monitoring and incident investigation in line with DAFI 13-213 and related directives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, revise and maintain the Wing Airfield Driving Instruction (ADI) and related training materials.
• Provide initial, recurring and remedial airfield driving training for unit ADPMs and all airfield drivers.
• Manage issuance, tracking and revocation of Airfield Driving Licenses.
• Oversee the Runway Incursion Prevention Program, conduct trend analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Lead investigations of airfield driving violations, runway incursions and safety incidents.
• Conduct program audits, spot checks and compliance inspections across units.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to Wing leadership on program status and compliance issues.

Required profile

• 7‑skill level from an approved DoD institution or civilian equivalent.
• Documented knowledge or experience with ICAO procedures.
• Minimum 1 year experience implementing airfield safety procedures and managing a flight‑line driver program.
• Ability to coordinate with Wing Safety, Airfield Management and tenant units.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
