Lead Planning / Schedule Engineer

About the role

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Lead Planning / Schedule Engineer for oil and gas and buildings projects. The role supports the project by managing the planning process and planning personnel across the organization, assists the Project Controls Manager and Planning Department Head in managing the project schedule, and provides planning expertise to the project.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the planning function during design and/or construction stages of assigned projects
• Assess the effectiveness of working practices and systems to continuously improve them
• Work in line with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
• Manage the Planning Team to deliver a complete Planning/Scheduling service
• Supervise and direct the Planning Focal Point and Planning Engineers
• Work with the client's UEV Cost & Planning team so that planning processes, procedures and systems are implemented and reviewed for improvement
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports, analyze contractor reports, and prepare regular status reports and forecasts for project management and client review
• Ensure Assets and Shutdown plans are prepared consistently and accurately
• Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Construction Manager, Operations Development and Asset Focal Points, and with the Management Team on costs and planning issues
• Develop other planning and specialist support staff at home and field offices
• Maintain the current and baseline schedule, analyze the effect of proposed changes and maintain the baseline change control authorization process

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Minimum 10 years of post-graduation experience
• Minimum 5 years in oil and gas and buildings projects
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on planning experience

Required skills

• Planning software such as Primavera and MS Project (minimum 5 years)
• Analytical problem solving, creativity and innovation
• Written and oral communication, formal presentation, and ability to influence and persuade
