Physical Therapy Assistant – Inpatient/Swingbed

About the role

Pana Community Hospital is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver inpatient and swing‑bed rehabilitation services. Working under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist, you will help patients regain mobility, balance and functional independence.

Key responsibilities

• Administer treatment programs and assist with therapeutic exercises, ambulation, balance and functional activities.
• Perform patient tests, measurements and document progress accurately.
• Assist with patient transfers, mobility, and transfers while ensuring safety and proper body mechanics.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, mobility strategies and treatment plans.
• Communicate patient status and treatment response to the Physical Therapist and broader healthcare team.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, Medicare guidelines, infection‑control and HIPAA standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Illinois license to practice as a PTA and current CPR certification.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable, insured automobile.
• Basic computer skills, including spreadsheet use.
• Strong clinical knowledge, communication and interpersonal abilities.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $26.30 to $36.82 based on experience.
• Full‑time, non‑exempt schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
