Project Engineer I – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is seeking a Project Engineer I for a 5‑year PMC contract with Kuwait Oil Company. The role supports the client in delivering new oil‑field facilities, upgrading existing assets, and transferring technology through comprehensive project management, engineering, procurement and construction services.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, take‑over and hand‑over of projects, defining clear objectives for the design/engineering team.
• Manage PMC engineering teams throughout FEED, bidding and EPC phases.
• Compile scope‑of‑work documents and technical parts of Invitation‑to‑Bid packages.
• Coordinate reviews and comments on engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, line lists, equipment datasheets, instrumentation indexes and cable routing.
• Lead multidisciplinary team reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, 3D models, constructability, etc.).
• Act as the primary technical coordination interface with the client, ensuring expectations are met.
• Ensure projects comply with the approved Basis of Design, regulatory and code requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 180 months (15 years) experience in oil‑and‑gas project engineering.
• Proven track record in project management, procurement and construction management.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with client stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FEED, ITB and LSTK processes.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory and code standards.
