Senior Geophysicist – Seismic Data Processing Consultant

About the role

Anton is seeking a Senior Consultant Geophysicist to lead seismic data processing projects in Kuwait. The role involves designing, managing and quality‑controlling processing workflows for 2D, 3D, land, marine and transition‑zone datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage seismic processing workflows, including geometry QC, noise attenuation, amplitude and statics corrections, deconvolution, multiple attenuation, velocity model building and migration.
• Lead advanced depth‑imaging workflows such as Pre‑Stack Depth Migration (PSDM), Reverse Time Migration (RTM) and Full Waveform Inversion (FWI).
• Evaluate and manage seismic processing contractors through technical assessments, benchmarking, tender evaluations and performance reviews.
• Conduct seismic re‑processing projects, integrate legacy datasets and ensure rigorous quality control at all stages.
• Apply AI/ML‑assisted processing techniques, assess high‑performance computing and cloud‑based platforms, and contribute to digital geoscience transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Geophysics, Geoscience, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of upstream oil & gas experience with extensive seismic data processing expertise.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale re‑processing projects and seismic processing contractors.
• Strong leadership, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills with excellent English communication.
