Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager will support the implementation and expansion of the quality management system across the market. This role works closely with the QA team to ensure food safety, brand compliance, and quality standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Execute elements of the annual market Quality Plan and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
• Assist in recruitment, training, development, and management of specialist QA professionals when direct reports are present.
• Follow all Americana Quality Management System SOPs and advise stakeholders as needed.
• Support food safety and quality initiatives, including supplier and product approval, audits, and product surveillance programs.
• Coordinate local food safety initiatives, risk assessments, incident reporting, and investigations.
• Analyse performance data, report findings, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain effective communication with internal functions (procurement, supply chain, operations) and external parties (franchisors, regulators, auditors).
• Support product localisation, ensuring ingredient specifications meet Gold Standard.
• Manage food complaints through investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 7 years experience in quality assurance/QHSE within the food sector (restaurant, manufacturing or processing).
• At least 2 years experience in a commercial management role (preferred).
• Working knowledge of GMP and food safety regulations is mandatory.

Required skills

• Detailed understanding of food safety management systems (HACCP, ISO, GFSI).
• Good knowledge of food safety principles and GMP.
• Experience as a Lead Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
• Ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders.
