Consultant - Geologist

About the role

Anton is seeking an experienced Consultant Geologist to lead and advise on upstream oil and gas exploration projects in Kuwait. The role involves providing expert guidance on exploration trends, technology, and risk assessment while supporting the development of R&D programs and capability building within the team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on current exploration trends, emerging technologies, and upstream oil & gas developments.
• Develop, review, and support exploration programs based on geological, geophysical, technical and commercial considerations.
• Lead geological and geoscience activities for prospectivity assessment, prospect maturation and de‑risking of drillable locations.
• Integrate geological and seismic interpretation to identify prospects, assess uncertainty and evaluate geological risks such as trap integrity, reservoir quality and geohazards.
• Advise on technology portfolios, evaluate emerging AI/ML and digital workflows, and collaborate with E&P companies, research institutions and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics or related discipline; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of international upstream oil & gas experience, with strong background in exploration, basin analysis and petroleum system evaluation.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex exploration programs.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills, with a record of technical publications being an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard geological and geophysical (G&G) software.
• Experience in geocellular, geomechanical and fracture modelling.
• Advanced seismic interpretation and integration with geological data.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications and digital workflows in geoscience.
