About the role
The Dean of Students – Discipline is responsible for overseeing student behavior, discipline, and related programs within the American Baccalaureate School. Reporting to the Principal or Director of Operations, the role includes managing department staff, coordinating with parents, and ensuring a safe, self‑disciplined learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate department staff on classroom management procedures, maintain documentation, and provide follow‑up.
- Meet with parents regarding discipline and behavior concerns and keep the administrative team and Superintendent informed.
- Enforce disciplinary authority on campus, school buses, and during authorized school activities, including student‑organized events.
- Monitor student arrival and departure times, ensuring no student leaves school grounds without proper permission.
- Perform daily lunch duty and lunch detention supervision, and undertake other duties assigned by the Principal.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 3‑5 years of relevant experience in student discipline or related educational roles.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong leadership and understanding of educational institution policies.
