ESM Systems Engineer III – Secret Clearance

About the role

The ESM Systems Engineer III provides senior‑level engineering and management support for enterprise‑class infrastructure within a Department of Defense environment. This role requires expert‑level certifications across multiple Microsoft and security domains and serves as the primary escalation point for complex system issues.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver enterprise‑level support for Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Windows File Services across global initiatives.
• Perform problem management, root‑cause analysis, and case resolution for identity management and infrastructure services.
• Configure, maintain, and document core systems such as SCCM/MECM, WSUS, SQL, ADFS, MIM/FIM, DNS, OCSP, PKI and Group Policy.
• Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate administration and support virtualized environments.
• Mentor junior Systems Engineers and act as the escalation hub for application and system support.

Required profile

• Minimum of 8‑10 years of experience in large‑scale enterprise IT environments, preferably within DoD or similar high‑security settings.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Expert‑level certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator and CISSP.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
