Field Service Engineer - Medusa C2

About the role

SAIC is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the Medusa Sustainment project, which provides the U.S. Air Force's solution for defending against small unmanned aerial systems. The role implements and optimizes hardware and software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites, including oversight, integration support, upgrades, problem diagnosis and resolution, and customer feedback. It is based in Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Qatar or Saudi, with about 10% travel and a target salary of $80,001-$120,000.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering representative at customer sites and provide field engineering and technical support for C-sUAS systems, equipment and software.
• Implement and optimize hardware and software products and multi-vendor systems, and oversee integration of existing hardware, software and network configurations.
• Manage software maintenance releases and hardware upgrades, diagnose and resolve performance issues, and identify and approve improvements.
• Provide customer support and feedback, and prepare reports and presentations on company products and services.
• Plan and deliver on-the-job training for field service technicians, and train Airmen on-site and by telephone.
• Troubleshoot, fault isolate and repair systems to the lowest level possible before escalating, and prepare systems for operation, software loading and final checks.
• Assist in packaging and returning non-mission-capable equipment to the regional support center, and support the program service desk and equipment inventories.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience, or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret clearance (must be able to obtain).
• In-field operator training and experience troubleshooting computer systems and networks.
• Strong written and oral communication, prioritization and independent work under pressure.

Required skills

• Security+ certification.
• Basic operational knowledge of VMware ESXi and Linux.
• Desired: radar, electronic warfare and EO/IR camera systems, Wireshark, Microsoft Office, networking devices and IP addressing.
