About the role
The Finance Officer will lead the finance function for the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) entity of ZAD, an FSRA‑authorised firm operating in Islamic financial services. Reporting to the Finance Committee, the role ensures compliance with prudential rules, manages capital, and oversees all accounting and reporting activities.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with PRU rules and monitor capital resources against Category 3A requirements.
- Own the prudential capital notification to the FSRA and trigger alerts when capital falls below 120 % of the requirement.
- Prepare and submit all prudential returns within the four‑month, one‑month and fifteen‑day deadlines via the FSRA electronic system.
- Provide data, forecasts and stress‑testing inputs for ICAAP and IRAP assessments.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, month‑end and year‑end close, and produce financial statements applying AAOIFI standards for Islamic products and IFRS where applicable.
- Lead the annual external audit with an ADGM‑registered auditor and resolve audit findings.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost control and management reporting.
- Ensure segregation and reconciliation of client money and assets from firm funds.
- Manage banking relationships, liquidity, cash flow and Shari’a‑compliant treasury arrangements.
- Maintain financial controls, delegation of authority and payment approval workflows.
- Coordinate tax, economic substance and corporate filing obligations for the ADGM entity.
- Report the firm’s financial and prudential position to the Finance Committee and Board on a regular basis.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA or equivalent).
- Eight or more years of finance experience in regulated financial services, with at least three years of direct responsibility for regulatory capital and prudential reporting.
- Proven experience submitting prudential returns to a regulator (preferably ADGM FSRA or DFSA).
- Knowledge of investment‑firm balance sheets, client‑money segregation and ICAAP processes.
- Familiarity with AAOIFI accounting standards is preferred.
