Fire Captain

About the role

The Fire Captain will lead fire‑fighting, rescue, and hazardous‑materials operations in Kuwait, supporting the WEXMAC mission. Reporting to the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations, the role ensures compliance with fire protection plans, emergency management procedures, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise firefighters during structural fires, aircraft fires, rescue missions, and HAZMAT incidents, ensuring adherence to NFPA and company standards.
• Conduct fire inspections, maintain fire alarm and communications equipment, and manage logistical tasks such as equipment accountability and maintenance scheduling.
• Develop and track performance metrics, provide training on EHS and QA requirements, and prepare necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in an organized fire or emergency service department, with at least two years as a Company Officer.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain U.S. Government and host‑nation motor vehicle operator licenses.
• Leadership, decision‑making, and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with multinational staff and military officers.

Required skills

• Operation of computerized fire alarm receiving systems and two‑way radio communications equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and documentation.
