Firefighter – Kuwait (DoD Installation)

About the role

The Firefighter will operate under the supervision of the Fire Officer at a DoD installation in Kuwait, responding to emergencies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire and rescue incidents, operate pumps, foam generators, turrets, and other firefighting tools.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, tools, and protective clothing in serviceable condition.
• Conduct fire inspections, pre‑incident planning, and maintain documentation per NFPA and DoD standards.
• Operate digital fire alarm and two‑way radio communications equipment.
• Perform administrative duties such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a firefighter on a DoD installation (preferred).
• Valid home‑country driver’s license and passport with at least two (2) years validity.
• Ability to pass annual firefighter health exam and SCBA fit testing per NFPA 1582/1583.
• Fluent in English (read, write, speak).
• Willingness to be available for recall and work in extreme weather conditions.

Required skills

• SCBA fit testing and NFPA 1582/1583 compliance.
• Operation of fire pumps, foam generators, turrets, nozzles, and digital fire alarm systems.
• Use of two‑way radio communications equipment.
• First Aid Provider (FAP) and CPR certification.
• Proficiency with MS‑Word, MS‑Excel, and MS‑Outlook.
