Food Services Supervisor

About the role

The Food Services Supervisor leads the daily operations of the dining area, ensuring that guests receive high‑quality service in a clean and welcoming environment. This full‑time, on‑site position reports to the food services manager and acts as the first point of contact for staff and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate staff to work as a cohesive team, monitoring service flow and guest satisfaction.
• Inspect employee grooming, attire and personal appearance, correcting any deficiencies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and securing the facility.
• Maintain storage areas using FIFO principles, conduct inventories and requisition supplies.
• Monitor dining room seating, safety, and overall guest well‑being.
• Generate work orders for maintenance and oversee their completion.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and disciplining employees.
• Enforce company safety, security and quality policies; report incidents and complete required training.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities and express genuine appreciation.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity and cost‑savings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum two years of food‑service experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing for long periods and navigating stairs or confined spaces.
• Capability to read and verify information in small print and visually inspect equipment for defects.
• Strong communication skills and a professional appearance.
