Full/Associate/Assistant Professor – Interior Design

About the role

The School of Architecture & Design at American International University seeks a full‑time faculty member in Interior Design. The appointment can be at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver innovative undergraduate studio and lecture courses covering residential, commercial, and furniture design.
• Integrate contemporary tools such as CAD, BIM (Revit), 3D modelling, and digital fabrication into the curriculum.
• Develop and update course content to meet industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Guide senior capstone projects, portfolio development, and industry‑standard practices.
• Maintain rigorous assessment and studio critique methodologies.
• Maintain an active research agenda or professional practice, publishing in peer‑reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaborations, external funding pursuits, and accreditation activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated excellence in studio‑based teaching in interior design.
• Active record of research and/or professional practice.
• Expertise in contemporary interior design methodologies, technologies, and sustainable design principles.
• Ability to mentor students and contribute to curriculum development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using BIM tools, specifically Revit.
• 3D modelling capabilities.
• Knowledge of digital fabrication technologies.
