Generator Shop Lead – Camp Arifjan, Kuwait (Secret Clearance)

About the role

The Kuwait Power Generation Shop Lead serves as the senior technical and administrative leader for generator maintenance operations at Camp Arifjan, ensuring all repair, overhaul, and sustainment activities meet Army regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul on tactical and commercial generators (3–150 kW) including engine, electrical, fuel, cooling, power output and HVAC systems.
• Supervise mechanics and technicians, assign daily workloads, track work orders and ensure repair turnaround‑time targets are met.
• Manage parts requisitions, service kits and bench stock to maximize readiness and reduce turnaround times.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, oversee load testing, performance verification and post‑maintenance quality checks.
• Review and validate maintenance records in GCSS‑Army and ensure accurate fault coding.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma with 15 years generator maintenance experience, or bachelor’s degree with 7 years in military/defense logistics.
• Demonstrated leadership supervising maintenance shops in a military or contractor environment.
• Ability to work in extreme desert conditions, lift up to 40 lb, and travel 25‑50 % of the time.

Required skills

• Generator maintenance and overhaul (3–150 kW).
• Diesel engine diagnostics and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of AR 750‑1 maintenance management and Army Technical Manuals.
• Experience with GCSS‑Army documentation and fault coding.
• HAZMAT/HAZCOM certification (or ability to obtain).
• ASE certification (preferred) and OEM‑specific generator training.
• AT Level I, OPSEC and Cyber Awareness certifications.
