Hostess – Front of House (Restaurant)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and professional Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests at our restaurant. The role involves greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth flow of service throughout the dining area.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, verify reservations, and record bookings in the reservation book.
• Prepare the restaurant before opening, ensuring tables, wait staff, and equipment meet standards.
• Escort guests to their assigned tables and manage seating according to restaurant policies.
• Handle telephone bookings and update reservation records accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the hostess station, menus, and drink menus.
• Assist with beverage service and carry trays safely.
• Train wait and bus staff on hostess standards.
• Address guest requests and resolve complaints, escalating incidents to the supervisor.
• Complete dockets and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of menu items and daily specials.

Required profile

• Excellent personal presentation and uniform standards in line with hotel policy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow opening and service procedures.
• Good communication skills and a service‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with wait staff, kitchen, and management.
• Understanding of health, safety, and fire‑life safety policies.
