Land Freight Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Land Freight Specialist to manage and optimise domestic and international road freight shipments from origin to destination. The role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring smooth transportation operations and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international road freight shipments, planning and arranging transportation with approved carriers and vendors.
• Monitor shipment status, proactively address operational issues or delays, and ensure timely booking, dispatch, and delivery.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, operational documentation, and data within transport management platforms.
• Act as the main customer liaison, providing shipment updates, status reports, and responding to inquiries.
• Secure capacity with transport providers and subcontractors, monitor carrier performance, and ensure compliance with service levels and regulations.
• Prepare and verify transport documents, delivery orders, customs paperwork, and ensure adherence to safety, security, and quality standards.
• Verify transportation costs and supplier invoices, support quotation preparation, monitor shipment profitability, and ensure timely billing and revenue recognition.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating road freight shipments across domestic and international routes.
• Strong customer service orientation with ability to communicate shipment status and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of transport documentation, customs requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to secure capacity and monitor performance.
• Analytical mindset for cost verification, profitability monitoring, and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
