Officer Source Development Food Ingredients

About the role

The Officer Source Development – Food Ingredients will support the identification, evaluation, qualification and development of new suppliers for food ingredients. The role ensures a reliable, cost-effective and compliant supply base while supporting QA documentation, sustainability initiatives and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify alternative ingredient sources, emerging suppliers and industry trends.
• Maintain a pipeline of potential ingredient suppliers and assist in onboarding and qualification processes.
• Collect and review supplier profiles, certifications, product specifications and coordinate audits with QA and Food Safety teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Planning and Production to secure timely availability of approved materials for new launches.
• Maintain ingredient specifications, certificates and approved supplier lists, ensuring compliance with GCC and destination market regulations.
• Monitor global food ingredient markets, pricing trends and supply risks to identify cost‑saving and diversification opportunities.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate preliminary commercial terms and prepare cost comparison analyses for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, commerce, science or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supplier development within the food manufacturing industry.
• Experience with ERP procurement systems (Oracle or similar) and Microsoft 365/Office.
• Familiarity with supplier qualification processes and food safety requirements is preferred.
