Partnerships Officer – Head of Office (Kuwait)

About the role

The Partnerships Officer (Head of Office) leads the newly formalised WFP presence in Kuwait, shaping strategic relationships with government, private sector and international financial institutions. Reporting to the Functional Director at Global Headquarters, the role drives resource mobilisation, policy support and innovative solutions to advance WFP’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a work plan to identify, develop and strengthen quality partnerships aligned with WFP strategic objectives.
• Engage with WFP functional units, regional and country offices to create partnership‑focused content for government, private‑sector and IFI audiences.
• Analyse partner data, trends and intelligence using WINGS, Salesforce and WFPGo to maximise resource mobilisation.
• Prepare briefing materials, joint event proposals and strategic agreements (MOUs, partnership action plans).
• Lead staff coaching, training and performance management to ensure high‑performing delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading partnership and resource mobilisation initiatives in a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong ability to navigate political, diplomatic and institutional environments independently.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring compliance with corporate norms.
