About the role

The Patient Care Technician I supports patients and their families on the 2nd Floor Rehab unit by providing basic care, monitoring, and hygiene assistance. As the team member who spends the most time with patients, the role requires compassion, strong interpersonal skills, and clear communication with both families and the broader healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with daily care activities, including hygiene and mobility support.
• Monitor patient conditions and report observations to the care team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Required profile

• Completion of at least 12 college credit hours, including English Composition with a grade of C or higher and a GPA of 2.0 or above.
• Healthcare or service‑industry experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and a commitment to a 48‑hour bi‑weekly schedule.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Ability to learn new healthcare skills, solve problems proactively, and engage patients appropriately.
• Team‑oriented mindset with consistent collaboration and communication skills.
