Patient Care Tech I – Night Shift on 3rd Floor Rehab

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides basic patient care, monitoring and hygiene assistance to patients and their families on the 3rd Floor Rehab unit. Working the night shift, the PCT is a key member of the care team, requiring compassion, strong interpersonal skills and clear communication with patients, families and healthcare staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with daily care activities, including hygiene, mobility and basic health monitoring.
• Ensure all aspects of patient care are completed accurately and promptly, supporting the overall treatment plan.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with the healthcare team to relay patient needs and observations.

Required profile

• Completion of 12 college‑level credit hours, including English Composition with a minimum C grade and a GPA of 2.0 or higher (transcripts verified).
• Willingness to work flexible night hours (6:30 pm – 7:00 am) and a total of 72 hours bi‑weekly.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to learn new healthcare skills, collaborate with the care team, solve problems proactively and engage patients appropriately.
