Senior Procurement Officer

About the role

The Senior Procurement Officer leads and oversees purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships and negotiating strategic agreements to ensure timely, cost‑effective procurement of goods and services that support organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business needs, managing high‑value and critical purchases.
• Lead sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and negotiate contracts, framework agreements and service level agreements.
• Monitor procurement schedules, approve purchasing activities within authority limits and resolve complex supplier issues.
• Support budgeting, track procurement expenditures, analyse spending patterns and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Guide and mentor junior purchasing staff, review documentation and promote continuous improvement.
• Prepare performance reports, ensure compliance with policies and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
• 5‑8 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably in Kuwait or GCC markets.
• Proven experience managing suppliers and large procurement contracts.
• Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, contract administration and inventory operations.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
