Chief Accountant – Islamic Leasing

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead accounting, financial reporting, treasury coordination, and internal control functions for a Sharia‑compliant automobile leasing and fleet management company. This senior position ensures accurate financial information, cash‑flow visibility, and compliance with IFRS and Islamic finance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing of books and preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, including lease accounting under IFRS 16, and manage Zakat‑related accounting.
• Coordinate with internal, external and Sharia auditors.
• Manage liquidity, funding, cash‑flow and working‑capital, liaising with banks and Islamic financial institutions.
• Control financial aspects of vehicle acquisitions, lease contracts, depreciation, maintenance and resale values.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and risk‑mitigation processes across finance functions.
• Provide financial analysis, budgeting support and governance advice to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in accounting within leasing, automotive, financial services or Islamic finance environments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, IFRS 16 and Sharia‑compliant financing structures.
• Experience managing treasury, credit lines and bank relationships.
• Ability to deliver accurate financial reporting and support strategic decision‑making.
