Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the organization’s accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with local regulations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this senior position provides strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including day‑to‑day bookkeeping, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate audit outcomes.
• Manage tax compliance, filing, and liaison with tax authorities.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to maintain high standards of professionalism and accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience with significant financial management exposure.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification highly valued.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication abilities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
• Proficiency with ERP accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Tax preparation and compliance expertise.
