Commis I – Kitchen Assistant (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis I to join our kitchen team at Marriott Executive Apartments in Kuwait City. The role involves supporting chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This is a full‑time, on‑site position in a fast‑paced hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot dishes while adhering to quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperatures and conduct quality checks.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow company safety, security, and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in food preparation or a similar kitchen role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a hot environment.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food portioning, weighing and measuring.
• Food safety and temperature monitoring.
