Demi Chef de Partie - Sushi

About the role

The Demi Chef de Partie – Sushi will work in a busy hotel restaurant, preparing sushi and other menu items to the highest standards. You will ensure food quality, safety, and presentation while supporting the kitchen team during peak periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and ensure proper food thawing procedures.
• Maintain food logs, monitor food quality and quantity, and inform staff of menu specials or out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and motivating kitchen staff.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any maintenance needs or incidents.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and coordinate with the Chef on excess food usage.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• At least 3 years of related culinary experience, preferably in sushi preparation.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking, with a focus on sushi.
• Temperature control of kitchen equipment and adherence to food safety standards.
