Pastry Commis I – Full‑time Position

About the role

The Pastry Commis I will support the pastry team in delivering high‑quality dishes and specials for guests at our Courtyard hotel in Kuwait City. This full‑time, onsite role involves preparing both hot and cold pastry items while maintaining strict food safety and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pastries, cold foods, and menu specials according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and ensure proper food storage and thawing procedures.
• Pull items from freezer, portion, arrange and garnish dishes, and maintain accurate food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the chef of excess items for daily specials, and communicate menu updates to service staff.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching as directed by management.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, report incidents, and maintain a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant pastry or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
