Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial recording, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls. This role supports month‑end and year‑end closing, prepares financial analysis, and assists management in decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate accounting entries, supplier invoices, customer transactions, payment vouchers and supporting documents.
• Supervise recording of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and adjustments.
• Lead monthly bank, supplier, customer, inter‑company, POS, sales and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including ledger reviews, provisions, accruals and financial reporting.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements, management reports and variance explanations.
• Monitor cash flow, receivables ageing, payable obligations and working‑capital priorities.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records, depreciation schedules and related reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements and support finance‑system automation initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, reconciliations and month‑end closing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Prior experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
