Application Engineer

About the role

The Application Engineer will support customers in Kuwait and Qatar by identifying optimal solutions from the Flow Controls portfolio, delivering technical and commercial support, and ensuring high‑quality service. The role works closely with Outside Sales, Service Engineers, Business Managers and other stakeholders to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application engineering, technical, and pricing support to customers, including presentations and site walk‑downs.
• Size and select control valves and other FCV products, review specifications and prepare deviation lists.
• Prepare accurate, timely quotations and follow up with customers and sales teams to secure purchase orders.
• Conduct technical sales calls, order close‑outs, site walk‑downs and generate related reports.
• Coordinate with GIS and Engineering teams for root‑cause analysis and solutions for severe‑service applications.
• Present detailed technical solutions and recommendations to customers.
• Ensure purchase orders are commercially and technically compliant before order entry and process error‑free orders to factories.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Order Entry and Customer Order Fulfillment teams to provide clean orders and post‑order support.
• Work with the Flow Control Sales Manager and Application Manager to achieve sales targets and departmental KPIs.
• Maintain records in Emerson systems, SharePoint and CRM platforms and comply with trade, quality and ethics policies.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in the process control industry, focusing on control valve products and applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical, Chemical) or equivalent.
• Proven experience selling control valve products and services to hydrocarbon, chemical and petrochemical end users.
• Knowledge of industrial standards related to control valve design, manufacturing and testing.
