About the role

The Assistant Cook / Kitchen Assistant will join HOP’s kitchen team in Hawally, Kuwait, supporting daily food preparation, ingredient handling, and maintaining strict food safety standards. This full‑time, on‑site position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about healthy, locally sourced food and can thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the kitchen team with cooking tasks and food preparation.
• Prepare, measure, and portion ingredients according to recipes.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Organise and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
• Monitor food quality and adhere to hygiene and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or restaurant (preferred).
• Transferable Article 18 work visa for Kuwait.
• Valid Kuwait Municipality (Baladiya) health card (preferred).
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking.
• Operating kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety procedures and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Accurate ingredient measurement and recipe adherence.
• Kitchen inventory management.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
