Civil Engineer – Commercial Property Maintenance

About the role

The Civil Engineer will oversee the civil works, structural elements, buildings and related infrastructure across AlTijaria’s commercial property portfolio. The role ensures safety, functionality, quality and regulatory compliance while supporting maintenance and improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical and feasibility studies, property investigations and civil condition assessments to define scope, viability and priorities.
• Develop and review detailed civil designs, drawings, specifications and technical documents using engineering software.
• Perform engineering calculations, quantity take‑offs and cost estimates for civil works.
• Review fit‑out drawings, identify required modifications and provide technical comments for management approval.
• Coordinate procurement, delivery and scheduling of civil materials, equipment and resources.
• Supervise contractors, service providers and subcontractors, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
• Assess sustainability and environmental impact of civil works and recommend resource‑efficient measures.
• Manage budgets, maintenance resources and ensure compliance with legal and governmental requirements.
• Liaise with clients, architects and other professionals to resolve design and development issues.

Required profile

• Qualified civil engineer with experience in property maintenance and infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to conduct technical studies, develop designs and manage civil‑maintenance programmes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory standards and sustainability considerations.
• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating procurement activities.
