Cold Kitchen Commis I – Full‑time

About the role

The Cold Kitchen Commis I supports the culinary team at a Marriott Courtyard hotel in Kuwait City. This full‑time position prepares cold dishes, assists with special meals, and ensures food quality and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters; pull frozen items for thawing.
• Maintain food logs, monitor portion sizes, garnish, and overall food quality.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Notify Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies; report maintenance issues, accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lb, and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum three (3) years of related cold‑kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification mentioned.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, broilers, grills, roasters).
• Food preparation and portion control according to recipes and standards.
