Core Application Support Specialist – IST Switch & Card Management Systems

About the role

The Core Application Support Specialist will ensure the smooth operation of the IST Switch and associated card payment systems for a leading Islamic bank. You will be responsible for maintaining high availability, reliable transaction processing, and rapid issue resolution across multiple payment channels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level application support and monitor system health.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents affecting ATM, POS, e‑commerce, issuer and acquirer processing.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of findings.
• Support deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Maintain operational runbooks and system documentation.
• Coordinate with business units, vendors, and technical teams to ensure seamless operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in banking or payment‑system environments, preferably in mission‑critical production settings.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and stakeholder management.

Required skills

• FIS IST Switch and card management systems.
• Card payment processing, transaction routing and ISO 8583 messaging.
• Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
• SQL and database querying (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2).
• Application monitoring, log analysis, production support and troubleshooting.
