Costing Clerk

About the role

The Costing Clerk will support the finance team by handling job costing, invoicing, cash collection and daily cash reconciliation. The role ensures accurate financial records and compliance with company policies while interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cost calculations for jobs in progress and close job cards upon completion, adhering to pricing and discount guidelines.
• Generate invoices in the system and collect cash payments from customers.
• Operate the cash register, sort, count and wrap currency, and deposit daily cash to the treasury, bank or authorized agents.
• Obtain acknowledgments on fund transfer forms and verify supporting documents for all disbursements.
• Record all receipts and payments promptly, file related documents (invoices, job cards, receipts) in an orderly manner.
• Reconcile cash on hand with the cash register balance each day and prepare month‑end cash schedules.
• Maintain sufficient cash in the drawer and ensure all cash‑related schedules are completed on time.
• Provide ad‑hoc support and be available to work beyond regular hours or weekends when required.

Required profile

• Commerce graduate with solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting entries.
• Minimum one year of experience in cash handling, invoicing and disbursements.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and follow company policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
