Demi Chef de Partie - Banquet Kitchen

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a luxury beachfront resort in Kuwait with banquet facilities, is hiring a Demi Chef de Partie for its Banquet Kitchen. The role supports the culinary team and upholds food quality, safety and cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist colleagues and support culinary teams where needed, building team spirit, credibility and trust.
• Report accidents and sickness immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear details.
• Identify potential breakdowns early, request assistance and relay breakdown information to the Chef de Cuisine so root causes can be found.
• Adhere to company policies on safety procedures, food hygiene and safe food handling, and to culinary standards for recipes, preparation and plating.
• Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to maintain high cleanliness standards in the kitchen, machinery, equipment, floors and fridges.
• Keep operating equipment in good condition and communicate any malfunctions to the Chef de Cuisine.
• Follow set-up times and breakdown schedules for each meal period or event, and follow all control and key procedures.
• Order, receive and store quality ingredients correctly using FIFO rotation, and prepare them according to recipes, plating guides and buffet setups while maximising production time and minimising waste.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a five-star hotel.
• Solid international culinary experience.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of the style of cuisine.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge.
• General health and safety awareness in the workplace.
