Electronics Specialist - Rolling Mill

About the role

We are looking for a talented and skilled Electronic Specialist to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. The role involves coordinating and guiding technicians in electrical and electronic maintenance activities within rolling mills, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical and electronics maintenance schedules and troubleshooting across assigned areas.
• Guide technicians in condition monitoring, testing, calibration, and repair of electrical and automation control systems.
• Prepare tools, parts, and equipment before maintenance work and carry out preventive and corrective tasks.
• Update SAP with accurate work order feedback, including condition monitoring results for motors, drives, and PLC systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot AC and DC drives, PLCs, and automation systems to minimize breakdowns.
• Support Root Cause Analysis investigations and apply approved preventive actions.
• Inspect, preserve, and functionally test critical spare parts stored in the warehouse.
• Verify functionality of automation systems, alarms, communication signals, and sensors.
• Assist production and maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns, upgrades, or shutdowns.

Required profile

• Technical Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation or related field.
• Minimum 3‑7 years of electrical maintenance experience in steel or heavy‑industry operations, depending on education level.
• Prior experience guiding technicians in steel plants, rolling mills or similar continuous‑process industries.
• Hands‑on involvement in breakdown maintenance, shutdown activities and preventive maintenance programs.
• Familiarity with high‑temperature operations, automated production systems and industrial safety practices.

Required skills

• Technical competence in maintenance and troubleshooting of AC and DC motors, drives and PLC‑based control systems.
• Ability to perform and interpret condition monitoring, testing and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment.
• Capability to identify control system abnormalities, alarms and signal issues and support corrective actions.
• Experience with automation systems, sensors and field instrumentation.
• Proficiency in recording maintenance data in SAP.
