Engineering Technician III – DC/Low Frequency

About the role

The Engineering Technician III provides training, advice, and hands‑on support for the repair, calibration, and modification of complex precision measurement equipment used in Gulf‑Coast operations. The role supports KAF and other GOK personnel with metrology‑related technical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of laboratory equipment.
• Provide on‑the‑job and classroom training to KAF and GOK personnel.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining laboratory QA accreditation.
• Offer technical and procedural guidance on metrology matters, including troubleshooting customer measurement problems.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in electronics technology (or equivalent military/industry training).
• 10–12 years of experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic precision measurement equipment and laboratory standards.
• Strong knowledge of basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra and physics.

Required skills

• Calibration and repair of voltage, current, power, resistance, capacitance, inductance, time and frequency equipment (≤500 MHz).
• Hands‑on work with audio/low‑frequency signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital/analog voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, electronic counters, pulse generators, bridges and automated test equipment.
• Soldering, wiring and delicate circuit‑card construction/repair.
• Use of test equipment to identify component‑level problems.
