Fire Captain

About the role

The Fire Captain will lead fire protection operations in Kuwait for a global defense contractor, ensuring compliance with fire protection plans and emergency management procedures. Reporting to the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations, the role involves directing firefighters during emergencies, inspections, and training.

Key responsibilities

• Implement fire protection programs and maintain a safe workplace in line with EHS and QA requirements.
• Conduct fire inspections, operate digital fire alarm systems, and ensure emergency equipment readiness per NFPA standards.
• Lead emergency response teams for structural fires, HAZMAT incidents, rescues, and aircraft fires, wearing required PPE.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate firefighters, manage equipment accountability, and support departmental metrics.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in an organized fire or emergency service department; two years as a Company Officer preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in Fire Science preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain U.S. Government and host‑nation licenses.
• Physical fitness meeting NFPA 1582 standards and ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

Required skills

• Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I certifications.
• Hazmat Operations, Incident Commander, Driver Operator (Pumper, Mobile Water Supply, ARFF, Aerial).
• Airport Firefighter, HazMat Technician, EMT (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
