Full/Associate/Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering

About the role

The School of Engineering and Computing at AIU seeks a full‑time faculty member in Civil Engineering at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The candidate will teach undergraduate courses, develop curriculum, mentor students, conduct research, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Civil Engineering courses with a strong focus on practical, industry‑based learning.
• Integrate real‑world engineering practices, construction projects, case studies, standards, and codes into teaching.
• Support teaching in structures, construction, geotechnical, transportation, water resources, and environmental engineering.
• Maintain industry connections and stay current with new technologies and construction trends.

Required profile

• PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of university‑level teaching experience with demonstrated excellence.
• Strong knowledge of current civil engineering practices, standards, and technologies.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, teamwork, and organizational skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and digital tools.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Simulation and analytical tools for civil engineering applications.
