Hazmat Compliance Advisor

About the role

The Hazmat Compliance Advisor implements Weatherford’s global hazardous‑materials strategy, ensuring safety, health and environmental protection at the assigned facility. The role supports the Radiation Safety Officer and acts as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and renew all facility‑specific hazardous‑material licenses and permits, ensuring full traceability.
• Manage radioactive material (RAM) source files, RAM shields, and transportation containers with cradle‑to‑grave documentation.
• Administer the radiation dosimeter program and develop procedures for female radiation workers.
• Conduct facility‑level HazMat audits, root‑cause analyses of incidents, and regular field visits to inspect explosives magazines, radiation bunkers and lithium‑battery storage.
• Oversee international import/export of hazardous materials, preparing shipping documentation and ensuring IATA/IMDG certification.
• Vet and approve HazMat service and product vendors according to Weatherford standards.
• Implement security measures, monitor compliance with license terms, and maintain records for HazMat‑authorized personnel.

Required profile

• Experience supporting a Radiation Safety Officer or similar compliance function.
• Proven ability to manage hazardous‑material licenses, permits and traceability systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for radiation, explosives and lithium‑battery protection.

Required skills

• Radiation safety and dosimetry management.

• IATA and IMDG certification knowledge.
• Root‑cause analysis and audit execution.
• Vendor qualification and compliance documentation.
