Legal Consultant – Banking & Finance (Remote)

About the role

Al Tamimi & Company is looking for a Financial Markets Legal Consultant to join its Banking & Finance practice in Kuwait on a remote basis. You will work on sophisticated derivatives and financial‑markets matters for leading banks, financial institutions and corporates across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad range of derivatives, repos and structured finance transactions, including interest‑rate, FX, commodity, equity and credit products.
• Draft, review and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements, schedules, Credit Support Annexes, initial‑margin documents and related confirmations.
• Support repurchase, securities‑lending and other market‑product transactions, including documentation under GMRA and GMSLA frameworks.
• Provide advice on collateral, close‑out netting, set‑off, enforceability, regulatory and insolvency issues.
• Assist with legal opinions, regulatory analysis and cross‑border transaction advice for Kuwait and the wider region.

Required profile

• Common‑law qualified lawyer with a strong academic record.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in derivatives, financial markets or related banking work.
• Demonstrable experience negotiating ISDA documentation.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and research skills with strong commercial judgement.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is advantageous but not required.
