Mechanical Technician for Water Treatment Plant

About the role

Veolia is seeking a Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair mechanical equipment at its Sulaibiya Waste Water Treatment & Reclamation Plant in Kuwait. Reporting to the Field Engineer (Mechanical), you will ensure reliable operation of the UF/RO facility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, dosing pumps and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults, carry out overhauls, replace seals, couplings, bearings and conduct basic alignment work.
• Support plant modification works, respond to emergency repair requests and coordinate with the Operations team to minimise downtime.
• Maintain tools, complete work orders, timesheets and maintenance logs, and update the CMMS system.
• Train and coach junior technicians and participate in safety meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Trade certificate/ITI.
• Minimum 6 years of mechanical maintenance experience in water treatment, chemical, refinery or power plant environments.
• At least 4 years hands‑on experience with overhauling and repairing rotating equipment.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Pumps, compressors, blowers, chemical dosing pumps, gearboxes.
• Seal, coupling, bearing replacement and alignment.
• CMMS usage and basic MS‑Office proficiency.
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving of mechanical systems.
