Milling & Particle Size Reduction Engineer – Powders & Active Ingredients

About the role

Palomba General Trading LLC is seeking a highly technical Milling & Particle Size Reduction Engineer to support industrial projects involving powders, botanical, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food ingredients. The role focuses on evaluating material characteristics, defining processing parameters, and guiding the selection and qualification of milling and powder‑processing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements for particle‑size reduction and powder conditioning.
• Evaluate feed material characteristics such as initial particle size, moisture, oil content, friability and temperature sensitivity.
• Support the selection and evaluation of milling, grinding and de‑lumping technologies.
• Define operating parameters, throughput and production‑capacity needs.
• Coordinate sample testing and trial runs with equipment manufacturers.
• Review test results and translate laboratory data into industrial specifications.
• Assist in scale‑up discussions and integration of milling equipment with feeding, conveying, mixing and dosing systems.

Required profile

• Practical knowledge of milling, grinding, particle‑size reduction, de‑lumping and powder behaviour.
• Familiarity with particle‑size distribution metrics (D10/D50/D90) and scale‑up principles.
• Strong technical orientation; not a sales or business‑development role.
