PKI Certificate Authority Engineer (Level I)

About the role

V2X is seeking a PKI Certificate Authority Engineer I to support enterprise‑class Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services across multiple secure networks. The role involves operating, maintaining, and documenting Certificate Authority (CA) systems while ensuring compliance with security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CA servers, databases, and Hardware Security Modules (HSM) on NIPR, SIPR, and coalition enclaves.
• Manage the full CA lifecycle – generation, revocation, expiration, and updates of digital certificates.
• Troubleshoot Active Directory Certificate Services, HSMs, Certificate Enrollment Web Services, Certificate Enrollment Policy Web Service, and IIS.
• Assist in defining and implementing the strategic PKI plan and related certificate technologies.
• Create and maintain detailed system documentation and improve processes through recurring‑problem solutions.
• Collaborate with system owners and act as the primary escalation point for PKI issues.

Required profile

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• One‑year related experience (or equivalent education).
• Expert‑level certifications such as MCSE and CISSP.
