Purchasing Engineer

About the role

Combined Group Contracting Company (K.S.C.C) is looking for a Purchasing Engineer in Kuwait. The role identifies suppliers for basic and contractual materials needed at the lowest possible price, with suitable delivery dates and in line with the required specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchasing requisitions for clarity and completeness of material and equipment descriptions.
• Select a suitable supplier based on the technical specifications of each requisition.
• Request and follow up on quotations from the approved vendor list, and review vendor quotations for compliance with specifications and contractual conditions.
• Take part in tendering: compare material prices, review project technical evaluations and inform the direct manager of any comments.
• Negotiate with technically qualified vendors so that target prices and company terms and conditions are met.
• Prepare final material comparison sheets and regularly review vendor performance.
• Qualify new local and international vendors, maintain purchase records and perform other related tasks assigned by the direct manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience.
• Experience in purchasing for heavy equipment, plants, machinery and vehicles.

Required skills

• Knowledge of an ERP purchasing system.
