Relationship Manager – Corporate Banking

About the role

The Relationship Manager will oversee an allocated corporate banking portfolio, while actively seeking new business opportunities to achieve the bank’s financial targets. This senior position involves managing client relationships, structuring credit facilities, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review the existing corporate banking portfolio, recommending credit facilities aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and profitability goals.
• Identify and pursue new prospects within the target market to expand the portfolio.
• Develop vertical and horizontal relationships across client groups, cross‑selling products and services from other business divisions.
• Conduct external control activities such as client call reports, documentation checks, facility activation, payment regularisation, and field visits.
• Coordinate internal controls, including credit reviews, documentation processes, and operational issue resolution.
• Prepare term sheets, pre‑screen memos, financial models, risk ratings, and profitability reports for new credit proposals.
• Guide and mentor Assistant Relationship Managers in their duties.

Required profile

• Minimum 8–10 years of corporate banking experience.
• Strong relationship‑management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Solid credit analysis background with tertiary qualifications, preferably an MBA.
