Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the organization’s operational and QHSE standards. This role supports strategic decision‑making through detailed financial analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise junior accounting staff and ensure accuracy in daily operations.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing processes and prepare financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain compliance with financial regulations.
• Analyze variances, provide recommendations, and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and QHSE policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in F&B or retail.
• Experience in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting systems and ERP software.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
