Senior Accountant

About the role

UNIGULF is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Special Works Division in East Ahmadi, Kuwait. The role involves managing daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the company’s financial control environment within an industrial and engineering setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and fixed‑asset tracking.
• Monitor cash flow, petty cash, operational expenditures and budget versus actual performance.
• Support departmental and project budgeting, cost tracking and financial analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with Kuwait accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with payroll‑related accounting and employee expense settlements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in Kuwait.
• Background in industrial, engineering, construction, maintenance or contracting environments.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and maintain high accuracy.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting/ERP software.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, reconciliations and financial analysis.
