Senior Mechanic – Rig Maintenance & Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanic to lead preventive maintenance and repair activities on drilling rigs. The role ensures the reliability of all mechanical equipment, supervises the crew, and upholds safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on engines, generators, pumps, compressors, cranes and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
• Plan and execute preventive (PM) and corrective (CM) maintenance work orders, recording all actions in the maintenance system.
• Supervise the mechanical crew, manage tool utilization and ensure compliance with safety, API and contractual requirements.
• Monitor and maintain power plant operations and power distribution to guarantee continuous availability.
• Oversee oil‑sample program, review results and raise work orders for corrective actions.
• Conduct functional and commissioning tests on new equipment, manage change requests (MOC) and verify third‑party installations.
• Communicate equipment status and issues to senior personnel and raise corrective work orders as needed.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in mechanical maintenance on drilling rigs or similar heavy‑industry environments.
• Proven ability to supervise a mechanical crew and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental and regulatory standards applicable to rig operations.
• Familiarity with OEM manuals and maintenance management systems.
